Girl scout smackdown – punishing real criminals
I recently saw some college girls, yes Washington Huskie college girls alongside 15th Avenue selling cookies to raise money for a charity. They were quite aggressive, both in flirting and selling themselves to the charity. A new ordinance, however, aims to stifle this elicit behavior.
Seattle City Councilman Tim Burgess wants to crack down on this so called aggressive ’soliciting’. Burgess’s aide did reply, stating, “Yes, this ordinance would apply equally to everyone who solicits.” Those who haven’t been to the city of San Francisco have never seen real aggressive panhandling.
This begs the question, how legally, sparking a conversation about where exactly do you draw the line with this ordinance.
We all know the economy is in a grinding motion, and people are desperate to get money, but come on! It’s already bad that the Obama-led FTC is trying to claim overlord to capitalism. Their own protectionist schemes aimed to herd the public is getting out of control and will end up being the bain of their own motive.
